The Sony Xperia E5 boasts a 5-inch HD display with a pixel density of 294 ppi. The screen comes with a protection in the form of a scratch resistant glass. The weight of the device is 147 grams and the colour variants available are graphite black as well as white. The device comes with a plastic casing on the back. It has a matte texture.

The phone’s operating system is theAndroid v6.0 (Marshmallow). The experts believe that in coming days the device will be provided with the latest version of the Android also.

The Sony Xperia E5 comes with a quite a few connectivity options including Wi-Fi with Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, microUSB 2.0. It even features NFC connectivity. Sensors too are available on the phone. These include accelerometer, proximity and ambient light sensor. Those who love to go for remote access with the help of NFC it is worth to buy the device.

Verdict

The two downsides of this device are that it doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor. This could be a decisive factor for people who look for higher security in their mobile handsets. The other drawback is that this device is a single SIM device. These days most people opt for a handset which is dual SIM. But this one doesn’t have that feature. Even this could be a decisive factor when choosing between the many available options for buying a handset.

However, the plus points of the device are many. On the top is the fact it carries the Sony brand name. Also, the fact it is slated to be the lightest upcoming Sony phone. This would definitely make it handy and easy to carry around. The Xperia E5 is the latest edition from Sony in the mid-range devices with better reliability and performance. So, because it is a budget oriented device, some high-end specs will not be available. However, one can rest assured that it can handle day-to-day tasks proficiently.
